Our top choices are Powered Now, Tradify and Fergus.

| Tradify | Small teams | 94 | £37/user/mo* |
| Fergus | Growing teams | 90 | From £39/mo |
*We show the Powered Now Professional and Tradify Pro plans because these include certificates.
Powered Now Professional costs £32 per user per month, excluding VAT. Tradify Pro costs £37 per user per month and includes compliance certificates. Fergus starts from £39 per month, with certificates included in its plans.
Powered Now — Best overall for electricians
Viaqo Score: 95/100
Powered Now is our top choice for UK electricians who want job management and electrical paperwork in the same software.
You can manage customers, jobs, quotes, invoices, appointments, photos and job notes. The Professional plan also includes electrical certificates and custom forms.
Powered Now lists electrical certificates including EICR templates, and its current software includes updated electrical certificate forms. It also works offline, which can be useful when working in basements, plant rooms or other places with poor signal.
Why we like it
- Electrical certificates and EICR forms
- Works offline
- Quotes and invoices
- Job diary and job history
- Photos and documents attached to jobs
- Works on iPhone, Android, tablet, Mac and PC
- UK-based support
- Making Tax Digital tools included
Powered Now also has strong independent customer feedback. At our latest check, it had a 4.7/5 Trustpilot score from more than 500 reviews.
What to watch
The cheapest Business plan does not include the electrical certificates. Electricians wanting these features will normally need the Professional plan or above.
Professional costs £32 per user per month, excluding VAT when billed monthly.
Best for: Sole traders and small electrical businesses that want UK-focused job management and electrical paperwork in one place.
Tradify — Best for small electrical teams
Viaqo Score: 94/100
Tradify is a strong alternative for electricians who want simple job management with built-in electrical certificates.
You can manage enquiries, quotes, jobs, schedules, invoices, payments and customer records. Its Pro plan includes compliance certificates.
For electricians, Tradify offers digital EICR, EIC, Minor Works and PAT documents, which can be completed, signed and sent to customers.
Why we like it
- EICR, EIC, Minor Works and PAT certificates
- Clear job scheduling
- Quotes and invoices
- Job photos and files
- Customer and job history
- Works on iPhone and Android
- Connects with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Very strong customer reviews
Tradify currently has a 4.8/5 Trustpilot score from more than 600 reviews, making its independent customer feedback one of the strongest in this comparison.
What to watch
Tradify needs an internet connection. Its own help centre confirms that the web and mobile versions do not work offline. This is worth considering if you regularly work in places with poor mobile signal.
The Pro plan, which includes compliance certificates, currently costs £37 per user per month.
Best for: Sole traders and small electrical teams that want straightforward scheduling, quoting, invoicing and electrical certificates.
Fergus — Best for growing electrical businesses
Viaqo Score: 90/100
Fergus is a strong choice for electrical businesses that want more control over job costs, materials and paperwork as they grow.
It includes job cards, scheduling, quotes, invoices, timesheets, forms and digital certificates. Electricians can keep certificates, photos and other job records together, so the information stays with the job.
Fergus also connects with more than 100 suppliers, including electrical and trade suppliers, which can make it easier to match material costs to the right job.
Why we like it
- Digital electrical certificates
- Detailed job costing
- Job cards, quotes and invoices
- Tracks labour and material costs
- Connections with more than 100 suppliers
- Mobile app for iPhone and Android
- Connects with Xero and QuickBooks
- No long-term contract
Plans start from £39 per month, and certificates are included.
Independent customer feedback is good overall, but not as clear-cut as Powered Now or Tradify. Fergus has 4.6/5 from 155 Capterra reviews, while its much smaller Trustpilot profile has 3.8/5 from 14 reviews.
What to watch
Fergus costs more to get started than some lower-cost alternatives.
Its Trustpilot score is also weaker than Powered Now and Tradify, although the number of reviews there is still very small. We therefore give more weight to the larger Capterra sample while keeping the mixed Trustpilot feedback in mind.
Best for: Growing electrical businesses that want better control over job costs, materials and certificates.
Also considered : ServiceM8
ServiceM8 remains a good general job management option, especially for sole traders looking to keep costs low.
It has a free plan for one user and up to 30 new jobs per month, with paid plans starting at £25 per month. It includes scheduling, quotes, invoices and job records. Forms can also be bought from its Form Store, while businesses that want to create their own forms need the Growing plan or above.
We have not put ServiceM8 in our top three for electricians because its electrical certificate setup is less straightforward than Powered Now, Tradify and Fergus.
Customer feedback is still positive overall. ServiceM8 has 4.5/5 from 311 Capterra reviews, although its current Trustpilot score is lower at 4.1/5 from 117 reviews.
Best for: Sole traders who want affordable general job management and do not need the strongest built-in electrical certificate tools.
Which electrician job management software should you choose?
For most UK electricians, we would start with Powered Now. It combines everyday job management with electrical certificates and can continue working when you lose your internet connection.
Choose Tradify if you want simple job management, strong electrical certificate support and excellent customer feedback, and you normally have reliable internet access.
Consider Fergus if your business is growing and you want stronger job costing, material tracking and supplier connections alongside your electrical paperwork.
ServiceM8 is still worth considering if keeping costs low is your main priority, but check that its forms and certificates cover exactly what you need.
What should electricians look for in job management software?
General job management features are important, but electricians have a few extra things to check.
Look for software that makes it easy to keep EICRs, EICs, Minor Works certificates, notes, photos and other job records together. You should also check how the software handles return visits and whether another member of your team can quickly understand what has already happened on a job.
Mobile access matters too. If you often work in areas with poor signal, check whether the software can still be used offline.
Finally, compare the price of the plan that contains the features you actually need. A cheap entry plan is less useful if electrical certificates require a more expensive plan.
How Viaqo compares electrician software
Viaqo does not claim to test every product ourselves.
We compare current product information, pricing and customer feedback on independent review sites. For this guide, we gave extra weight to features that matter to electricians, including electrical certificates, job records, mobile working and value for small UK businesses.
Our rankings are independent and can change when products, prices or customer feedback change.
